Daisy is now back training, in the peak of good health & fit as a lop! She is training with 3 of her pups, showing them how to do the job & they are all loving every moment. She has taken part in a few scurries at Game Fairs and been extremely fast, keen & straight onto the dummy. She is continuing her training and will be competing in some working tests shortly.
Ben is also going to be entered into some working tests soon, he is busy doing demonstrations with Daisy, Kim, & Aycer at the moment. Ben loves his work, he is more methodical than Daisy and is a thinker, he’s very good at working things out. He never misses a retrieve.
Purdy is a very fast, brave, girl with loads of character; she is smaller than the others so she can get through anything. She is the sort of dog that goes “till the cows come home”. Purdy just loves being a gun dog!
Kim has been furthering her training & is coming on wonderfully well. She is a natural and water is her favourite, she is totally fearless. Kim is a devoted dog, she never takes her eyes of me when training & she never misses a trick. She is one of a kind, a pleasure to own, is our little Kim.
Aycer, she is a little gem! From the start of her training she has been incredibly talented, she still makes few mistakes but it is like she was born to be trained. She is Ben’s half sister & so like him; a thinker, you can see them sat together working things out. Aycer is a steady methodical worker, just like Ben in this respect too, she loves her work with a passion.
Teal has been very busy. She has been gundog training, towards her show working certificate, and is a dream to train. Pheasant is her favourite game to retrieve. We are at shows with Teal most weekends. Teal gained her 3rd BEST OF BREED last week & has also qualified for Crufts again, that makes 4 times for next year’s show! We try to get out training with all the dogs at least 4-5 times a week. We take 2-3 at a time, so they can work either alone or with each other.
Nell, we very much hope is 2 weeks in puppy to sh.ch. LINDALL REDEMPTION, he is also Hettie’s sire. Nell is still going to be carrying on as normal till she naturally slows down, she is fit & healthy & looks the picture of good health. Although she is a show dog, Nell loves obedience work and she also loves the dummy. Nell’s due date is 10th December so watch this space...
Hettie is 5 months old now, her first show is end of November. She is a wonderful puppy, sensible, calm, obedient & clever. You name it she is it! She is so easy to train because she listens so carefully, we hope she does as well as Teal has done.
Well that’s all for now, we just keep training & showing. Take care.
